Worksheets for Rhyming words, matching, webs, and mini-books. Sentences (Basic Building Sentences) The page contains basic build-a-sentence worksheets. Students cut out the word cards and rearrange them to make complete sentences. These worksheets were designed primarily for students in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Sentences (Run-Ons and Fragments). House individual Language Experience books in student book boxes to be read during independent reading. Read Pig the Pug by Aaron Blabey: Students identify upper and lower case initial /p/ graphemes in words (e.g. Pig, pug, paw, puff, pile). Write these words on cards with other words from the text. On index cards, write the blends br-, cl-, fl-, gr-, pl-, sp-, and tr-, and put the cards in a hat. How to Play: As a class, make a list of words that begin with the blends on the index cards. Instruct students to select words from that list and write them on their bingo boards. Then start playing! Pick a blend out of the hat.

Kids love seeing their name cards up on your classroom word wall. Use the free updated templates to make your own name cards.

Use them for your word wall and for a variety of literacy activities. Do you add your students' names to the word wall or alphabet wall in your early childhood classroom. Adding names to your word wall can generate a great deal. Whether you want to create a booklet for an event or print out an ambitious book project, consider using the pre-built page settings for booklets that comes with Word.

The Book Fold layout sets you up for printing your masterpiece automatically in the correct order, ready for folding and binding. There are many words to make, and you can use the table of contents or index to find words that fit your needs. The only problem I've had so far is that it is pretty tough to get the pages of letter cards to copy correctly - the front and back of the page have to perfectly align on the photocopy, and that is not an easy task unless you wish to /5(88).

Word templates provide the design consistency that any organization (or individual) needs to look professional. Here's how to use pre-made templates or create your own.

Build a Sight Word is a great activity for children to play to help develop their sight word vocabulary. Using the free printable sight word cards, children look at each letter in the word and re-create (build) the word using the wooden letters. Once they have built the sight word, they cover each letter with small glass gems.

There are several sizes to choose from, including a selection of "standard" options. Make a card with the "poster," "portrait" or "square" option for the best results.
